Mark is an Enrolled Agent (enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service) and has been preparing individual and business income tax returns for over six years. He is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® since 2008.
For his previous employer, Mark was also a tax school instructor for five years, teaching a wide range of advanced and beginning tax courses. He is an active member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents and sits on the board of the 400-member East Bay chapter. He also serves as an IRS Presenter Partner for basic federal/state payroll seminars. Mark participates in several online tax discussion groups, where he can tap into the combined wisdom of the best professionals throughout the country to apply to your specific tax issues.
Tax and related services is Mark's third career. He previously worked more than two decades in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Mark finds that software and tax preparation require similar skills - explaining technical issues to clients in non-technical terms, keeping abreast of numerous ongoing rule changes, and producing a result that is as error-free as possible. His hobbies include selling vinyl records, reading science fiction, and road trips.
